‘Force of Nature’ is a series that uses a ‘bottom-up’ approach to algorithmic development. The process begins with a given set of geometry which is transformed by an algorithm, or a sequence of algorithms. These transformations are called a force of nature, in that they systematically reorganize the given geometry. Chance is fundamental to this processs. This series represents a collection of works that were well suited to fabrication by using painting techniques. Many use polygons as the basic geometry which are ideal for color.
